Mission Statement
The mission of the Solid Waste Division is to provide the Citizens of Titusville with an affordable refuse and recycling collection service that disposes of residential and commercial solid waste in a sanitary, timely and convenient manner.
Responsibilities
The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the collection and removal of garbage and recycling items within the city limits of Titusville. Our services include once a week household garbage pickup, once a week curbside recycling pickup, bulky item (junk) pickup on a call in basis and yard waste pickup once a week.
Commercial garbage collection (dumpsters) is set up by the customer and varies according to size of the container and pickup days. However, pickup days are available Monday through Saturday for this service.
Residential bulky item collection (large items such as couches, furniture, mattresses, etc) will be collected on a call in basis. Please call 383-5755 to schedule a pickup.
Wood and Appliances are picked up every Friday. Please call the Solid Waste Division at 321-383-5755 to schedule a pickup.
For any questions, contact the City of Titusville's Solid Waste Division at 321-383-5755.
If an owner wishes for the City to dispose of large amounts of junk or yard debris exceeding the capacity of the waste collection vehicles, a fee for such disposal shall be charged.
The following items are collected in the curbside recycling program:
- Newspapers
- Aluminum and steel cans
- Glass bottles and jars
- Plastic bottles with a "neck"
- Magazines
- Catalogs
- Office paper
- Junk mail (to include envelopes with and without windows)
- Telephone books
As with all recyclable items, please do not place items in the bins which do have or previously contained hazardous, toxic, chemical or explosive ingredients. If unsure whether a container or its contents is recyclable or how to properly dispose of the materials, please contact the Solid Waste Division at 383-5755. Residents may also request new recycling bins to replace damaged or stolen bins by calling the Solid Waste Division or using the e-mail located at the top of this page.
Service Fee - The Solid Waste Division operates as an enterprise fund. This means service costs, like collection, are paid by monthly garbage/recycling fees which are included on the monthly utility bill.
Special Notes - Once again, all items to be picked up by the City must be placed at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the day of pickup.
- Plastic and paper bags are acceptable for containerizing yard trash.
