The Historic Preservation Board (HPB) of the City of Titusville, Florida met in regular session at City Hall in the Council Chamber, located at 555 South Washington Avenue on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.

Vice Chairman Petyk called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Present were Secretary Adams, Member Shifalo, Member Jonas, Member Gaetjens and Alternate Member Crofton. Chairman Kiesel, Alternate Member Davis and Member Foster were absent. Also attending was Redevelopment Planner Tim Ford and Recording Secretary Laurie Dargie.

Secretary Adams motioned to approve the minutes from the November 7, 2022 meeting with corrections. Member Jonas seconded. There was a unanimous voice vote in favor.

Explore Historic Titusville Booklets Reprinting
Mr. Ford gave an overview of this item.

Secretary Adams made a motion to approve moving forward with ordering one-thousand (1,000) copies of the Explore Historic Titusville booklets with the approval that the Economic Development Department will cover half of the cost for printing the booklets which is $2,710.50. Member Jonas seconded.

Draft Architectural Style & Design guidelines outline
Mr. Ford gave an overview of this item.
The Historic Preservation Board had discussion regarding adding/changing/removing the following information.
- Adding Paint sub-heading for residential and commercial
- Adding Contributing structures
- Adding Siding
- Adding Paint color procedures
- Removing the word “Cracker” (Architectural Style Guide) section
Mr. Ford took notes and will make the changes to the draft Architectural Style & Design guidelines outline.

Mr. Ford went over the staff report items.
Member Shifalo said that she was very pleased with how Mr. Parrish and Chairman Kiesel addressed City Council regarding the Historic Preservation Board’s decision to deny the 422 Julia Street paint scheme.
