Special City Council Meeting

CITY OF TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA

NOTICE OF A SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING  

(ATTORNEY-CLIENT SESSION)

Please be advised that members of the City of Titusville City Council will hold a Special Meeting (Attorney-Client Session) on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Titusville City Hall, in the Council Chamber, second floor, 555 S. Washington Avenue, Titusville, FL 32796. 

As provided for in Florida Statutes Section 286.011(8), the Attorney-Client Session will open to the public in the City Council Chambers then recess to a private Attorney-Client Session in the Round Room Conference Room, on the first floor of City Hall, to discuss pending litigation in the matter of CITY OF TITUSVILLE v. SPEAK UP TITUSVILLE, INC., Case No. 2022-CA-038303 (Brevard County Circuit Court). 

Attendees at the private Attorney-Client Session will include: Mayor Daniel E. Diesel, Vice Mayor Joe C. Robinson, City Council Members Herman A. Cole, Jr., Col USAF Retired, Jo Lynn Nelson, and Dr. Sarah Stoeckel, Litigation Attorney Leonard Collins, City Attorney Richard Broome, and City Manager William S. Larese. A certified court reporter will also be in attendance. 

The private Attorney-Client Session is anticipated to last for approximately one (1) hour; however, the session may continue so long as the members of the City Council determine is necessary. At the conclusion of the private Attorney-Client Session, the Attorney-Client Session shall reopen and be adjourned in the City Council Chambers, on the second floor of Titusville City Hall, in accordance with Florida Statutes Section 286.011(8).

Any person who decides to appeal any decision of the City Council with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

The City desires to accommodate persons with disabilities. Accordingly, any physically handicapped person, pursuant to Chapter 286.26 Florida Statutes, should, at least 48 hours prior to the meeting, submit a written request to the chairperson that the physically handicapped person desires to attend the meeting.
