For the second year in a row, the Titusville-Melbourne-Palm Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area (T-M-PB MSA) has landed in the nation's top 10 best performing large cities, according to rankings supplied by the Milken Institute. In 2020, the T-M-PB MSA catapulted 47 places to land in the #10 spot, and in 2021, the region captured the #2 slot in the country for the best performing Tier 1 cities!
Milken assigns the rankings by examining and evaluating a number of criteria, such as jobs, wages, and high-tech growth, while also incorporating new measures of housing affordability and household broadband access. The top-performing metros have developed strategies that allow them to weather economic storms and leverage assets more effectively and efficiently. The experience of these metro areas also offers a standard for leaders in other regions seeking to promote sustainable growth and prosperity.
The report, Best-Performing Cities 2021: Foundations for Growth and Recovery, features the highest achieving cities in five separate tiers.
The mission of the Milken Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank, is to "help people build meaningful lives, in which they can experience health and well-being, pursue effective education and gainful employment, and access the resources required to create ever-expanding opportunities for themselves and their broader communities."
