The Water Reclamation Division is responsible for the operation and management of Water Resources two water reclamation plants: the Blue Heron and the Osprey. Both of these 24-hour/day facilities provide advance wastewater treatment, which means they treat wastewater to such a high quality standard that it can be reused (or reclaimed) for uses such as irrigation.
About our facilities
The Osprey and the Blue Heron are are regulated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and supply data to the St. Johns River Water Management District, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Army Corp. of Engineers.
Guided tours of the Osprey and Blue Heron Water Reclamation Plants are available for groups of five or more. To request a tour, contact Water Reclamation or the Conservation Office.
