A local man was killed and another man was seriously injured in a single vehicle traffic crash at approximately 2 AM on Thursday, August 19, 2021, near the 1000 block of South Hopkins Avenue.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim, Travis Jay Papczynski, 33, of Titusville, driving a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze, continued northbound on South Hopkins Avenue and failed to follow the roadway as it required him to make an eastbound turn onto Brevard Street. The vehicle incorrectly continued northbound into the southbound lanes of S. Hopkins Avenue where it struck a tree on the west side of the roadway.
Papczynski was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The passenger was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion.
