At approximately 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Titusville Police Officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries involving a City of Titusville 2015 white Mack Leu garbage truck, driven by Marcus Latravious Hoper Sr., 41, of Titusville, and a 2013 blue and white Yamaha TT-R230 Dirt Bike driven by Collin Jacob Liston, 14, of Titusville, near the intersection of North Dixie Avenue and Georgia Avenue.
The preliminary investigation revealed a motorcyclist, riding a dirt bike northbound on North Dixie Avenue, collided with a city solid waste dump truck on North Dixie Avenue.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There were no other injuries.
This traffic homicide remains under investigation and further details will be released upon its conclusion.
