Local Partnerships Combat Drugs

Titusville Police Department Posted on May 23, 2022

Titusville Police Special Investigations Section (SIS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Parrish Medical Center (PMC) and Walmart worked together to collect and ultimately destroy expired and unwanted medications within the city.

DEA recently announced that over 41 pounds of these types of medications were collected by SIS detectives during a recent “No Questions Asked” Pill Take Back events at Parrish Medical Center and Walmart Supercenter located in Titusville.

“The simple step of clearing out medications that are no longer needed makes our homes safer, prevents prescription drug misuse, and ultimately can help save lives”, said PMC Director of Pharmacy Heather Grolet, Pharm D. “Partnering with the Titusville Police Department, DEA and local businesses makes our community a safer place for our families and highlights our commitment to Healing Families – Healing Communities”, added Grolet.

The next DEA Pill Take Back event will be on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
