Arrest Made in Deadly Shooting

Titusville Police have arrested a local man in connection with the shooting death of an adult male. 

MALCOLM LAMAR JACKSON, 25, of Titusville was charged with Manslaughter

On Friday, October 23, 2020 at approximately 6:20 PM, Titusville Police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Olive Avenue and Bridge Street. 

Officers arrived on scene and found Jerome Stephon Griffin, 33, of Titusville, lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound.  

The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased at 6:54 PM. 

The preliminary investigation has revealed the victim and suspect were known to each other and had a previous altercation that evening. 

Jackson was located at the scene by police, taken into custody without incident and booked into the Brevard County Jail. 

This remains an ongoing investigation.
