On Saturday, December 19, 2020, at approximately 8:45 PM, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Sunny Discount Food and Beverage Store located at 68 North Carpenter Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Lang approached the store checkout counter, demanded money from the adult female store clerk, and threatened to shoot her with the loaded firearm that he was pointing at her.

Lang left the store with stolen cash and fled the scene northbound on North Carpenter Road in a stolen grey 2018 Nissan Altima driven by Durrance.

Investigative leads, including video surveillance footage and witness testimony, subsequently led to the suspects’ identity.

On Sunday December 20, 2020, Lang was located and taken into custody by detectives without incident at his residence. Durrance was intercepted by officers while tampering with evidence near his residence and taken into custody.

Detectives recovered the stolen grey 2018 Nissan Altima and a stolen firearm allegedly used in the teen suspects’ crime spree.

Lang and Durance were transported to the Brevard County Juvenile Detention Center and additional charges are pending for both suspects.
