Titusville Police are conducting a homicide investigation in connection to the recent death of a local man.
At approximately 4 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2023, police responded to an initial report of a hit-and-run near the intersection of Airport Road and Dixie Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the deceased victim, Denzel Michael Smith, 31, of Titusville, with apparent gunshot wounds.
Based on investigative evidence, police located the homicide suspect, Xaiver Lamar Smith, 26, of Missouri, approximately 13 hours after the initial incident nearby with an apparent fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.
