Titusville Police Detectives have arrested an adult male and a juvenile female in connection with the attempted homicide of a local man occurring on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Vance Michael Shannon, 19 of Holiday, Florida, was arrested and charged with 6 felony counts: Attempted Murder, Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, Aggravated Battery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Shooting a Firearm into a Vehicle, and Criminal Mischief.
Kaylee Storm, 17, of Mims, was arrested and charged with 2 felony counts: Attempted Homicide and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
At approximately 9:15 PM, police responded to 911 calls reporting shots fired near a residence on the 1500 block of Fuji Drive.
The primary investigation revealed Shannon vandalized the victim’s Christmas decorations and left the scene in a 4-door Mercury sedan. Moments after the vandalism occurred the victim identified the suspect's vehicle parked along Fuji Rd just a few houses down from the initial crime scene.
The victim, driving his 2019 green Nissan Titan Truck, confronted Shannon about the vandalism. Shannon proceeded to threaten him by producing a firearm and pointing it at him, threatening to kill the victim. The victim retreated to his vehicle at which point the suspect vehicle reversed at a high rate of speed into the victim’s front yard. The victim, in fear for his family’s life, blocked the suspect’s car with his own. When the victim exited his vehicle, the female suspect, Storm, got out of the sedan and charged the victim with a knife. The knife cut the victim's hand as he tried to defend himself.
In addition, Shannon exited the sedan and shot multiple times at the victim while making statements that he was going to kill him.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Within an hour, investigative evidence led Titusville Police Detectives to the location and subsequent arrest of Shannon and Storm at a residence within the Fawn Lake community in Mims.
Kaylee Storm was remanded to the Brevard County Juvenile Justice Center.
Vance Michael Shannon was booked into the Brevard County Jail and is being held on a $173,000 bond.
This remains an ongoing investigation and more details will be released.
