Titusville Police Explorers Win at State Competition

Congratulations to the Titusville Police Department (TPD) Explorer Team who took home 8 top honors at the recent 2023 Florida Association of Police State Conference held in Lake Mary, Florida. 

 

For the past 6 months and over 250 hours of intense studying and practical hands-on training preparing for the competition against dozens of Florida law enforcement agencies, the TPD Explorer Team earned the titles: 2nd Place overall, 1st Place in Crime Scene Investigations, 1st Place in Traffic Stops, 3rd Place in Crisis Intervention, 3rd Place Search and Arrest, 4th Place In-Progress Crime, Individual 3rd Place Agility for Sgt Brandon Michell and the prestigious Patricia Wells Scholarship award to Chief Dalen Belford.

 

The Titusville Police Explorer program begin at the department in the late 1960 and is a program offering first responder career exposure, real-life scenarios, and leadership training for youth ages 14 years to 21 years old. Detective Jessica Cabrera, a former Explorer herself, has supervised teams for more than 18 years.
