Pedestrian Killed Near Hospital Intersection

Titusville Police Department Posted on December 14, 2021

A local man was struck and killed by a vehicle at approximately 3:30 PM on Sunday, December 12, 2021, near the entrance of the Parrish Medical Center located at 951 North Washington Avenue.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim, Gregory Pettengill, 68, of Titusville, was laying in the roadway in the northbound lane of North Washington Avenue, when he was stuck by a 1993 maroon Toyota Sport Utility Vehicle driven by 49-year-old Stephan P. Morin, who was also traveling northbound on North Washington Avenue.

  

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

 

There were no other injuries.

 

“This area of US #1 has become one of our city’s most dangerous and fatal”, said Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson. “We remain vigilant with proactive patrol efforts, in addition to informing the public to slow down and look for pedestrians crossing this heavily traveled highway”, added Hutchinson. 

 

This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion.
