City of Titusville Proclamation of Emergency in Response to Hurricane Milton

CITY OF TITUSVILLE

PROCLAMATION OF EMERGENCY 

WHEREAS, Hurricane Milton has developed as a major hurricane and is expected to strengthen; and 

WHEREAS, this hurricane is currently threatening the City of Titusville, Florida and on its current predicted track could threaten the Florida Atlantic Coast within 24 hours; and 

WHEREAS, the City of Titusville has monitored the increased risk to the community and is preparing to execute its Hurricane Preparedness Plan and establish an emergency command center at the Titusville Fire Headquarters; and 

WHEREAS, Chapter 8 of the City of Titusville Code of Ordinances authorizes the Mayor of the City of Titusville to declare the existence of an emergency; and 

WHEREAS, pursuant to that Chapter, an emergency shall mean any occurrence of threat thereof, whether accidental, natural or caused by man, in war or in peace, which results or may result in substantial injury or harm to the population or substantial damage to or loss of property; and 

WHEREAS, after proclamation of an emergency, the mayor may, in the interest of pub.lie safety and welfare, issue orders as declared in said Chapter 8 which are imminently necessary for the protection of life and property; and 

Now, therefore, I, Daniel E. Diesel, do hereby declare the existence of an emergency in the 

City of Titusville, Florida pursuant to Chapter 8 of the City of Titusville Code of Ordinances.
