Certificates Needed:
Florida Drivers License, Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance, CPR, State of Florida EMT or Paramedic, EVOC, CPAT*
*CPAT must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire
STEP 2: Complete the Candidate Physical Assessment Test:
Selection Process
Titusville Fire Department reviews all applications for overall qualifications, relevant training, and experience.
Qualified applicants are notified via phone and email with an invitation to participate in a pre-employment screening process:
1) Panel Interview
2) Selection (conditional offer extended)
3) NFPA 1582 physical fitness evaluation
4) Psychological evaluation performed by a third party
5) NFPA 1582 medical examination, drug screening, background investigation
Upon successful completion of the Selection Process, candidates will complete a 2-3 week orientation (dependent on size of hiring group). Orientation will be Monday-Friday, 0800-1700 (some days may be extended:1730-1800). This is where candidates will learn department specific EMS and fireground operations, equipment, among other topics.
