Community Volunteering

Do you ever have days when you wonder, "Another day-what to do, what to do?" Have you thought about the advantages of volunteering? Volunteering is:

  • Fun
  • Keeping in touch with the community in which you live
  • Leads to learning new skills
  • Making new friends
  • Meeting interesting people
  • Sharing your talents

Activities

Our volunteers assist with fire and life safety events held on weekends and evenings throughout the year. These events take place both indoors and outdoors. Volunteers help by:

  • Talking with community members and answering questions
  • Handing out fire and life safety information
  • Running interactive safety games and activities
  • Helping set up and take down event equipment (10x10 tents, tables, displays, etc.)
  • Loading and unloading the van
  • Organizing the warehouse

Volunteers should be comfortable working in the heat, standing for long periods, engaging with the public, and working as part of a team.
