A local man was shot while driving along a busy street and then subsequently crashed into a commercial truck.
At approximately 11:15 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Titusville Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Singleton Avenue and Garden Street.
Just minutes later, officers were notified of a traffic crash involving multiple vehicles at that same intersection.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was traveling south on Singleton Avenue in a black 2016 Kia Soul, when occupants in a dark grey sedan with dark tinted windows pulled along side the victim and began shooting bullets into his vehicle. The victim lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the side of a commercial truck in the intersection.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The shooter was described by witnesses as a black male.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threating injuries.
The suspects are still at large.
Detectives are working all leads. The preliminary evidence indicates the victim was specifically targeted by the suspects, and this was not a random act of violence.
